BATCH 2010- on the way ahead is bleak.....

This is where we live. We live in a seren, fresh, and a harmony town of Bongao. The IICT Building can be found there and on the way to the bridge is the MSU-TCTO main campus, unfortunate you can't see it now, just imagine. I will try to upload the main campus later.

BATCH 2010



This April 2010, there are 9 students expected to graduate- THE SIXTH BATCH OF IICT. They are Abdulla, Darmi I; Agga, Nur-om M.; Attip, Nurmelyn; Hamja, Fermin J.; Hamis, Ummi-kalsum; Jaji, Winnor H..; Said, Sadar S.; Samad, Farsaudi S.; and Tahil, Ar-desher Q. Unfortunately they are the highest number of batch to graduate in history of IICT. The first batch has no graduate. Then there were 3 graduates of second batch, 6 graduates of third batch, 3 graduates of fourth bacth and no graduate of fifth batch.

Our Mission

The Institute of Information and Communications Technology, as a center of development for excellence in Information Technology education in the Sulu archipelago, shall endeavor to, in accordance with the Mission Statement of the MSU-TCTO

• Produce a globally competitive graduates with excellent ICT and computing skills;
• Foster an environment that promotes academic excellence, professionalism and social responsibility; and
• Promote the growth and development of ICT and computing industry in this southernmost part of the country.

Program Offered

The Computer Science Department of the Institute of Information and Communications Technology administers the four-year Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) Program.

The BSCS program is responsive to the nation's thrust to become a source and developer of technology instead of just being a consumer of technology. It aims to produce IT professionals who will specialize in research, design and development of different computer and information systems. The curriculum is laden with subjects that deal with comprehension of mathematical and profound computer science concepts, analysis and design of computer systems. These allow a graduate to immediately fit into existing jobs both locally and abroad.

The BSCS graduate will have a good foundation and competence on the science on computers and information that will enable him/her to endeavor into research, design and development on various computer and IT specialty areas.


Objectives of the Program

1. To provide students the basic knowledge and skills in computer science and other related computer technologies;
2. To incorporate in the existing relevant curriculum, courses as mandated by the Commission on Higher Education;
3. To develop the competence of the students in the field of computing, research, business, industry and other fields of human endeavor;
4. To serve the needs of the students who cannot afford to study outside of Tawi-Tawi to avail themselves of the said course (provided they qualify); and
5. To maintain the standard of instruction as mandated by the MSU System.
Facilities

The establishment of two functional computer laboratories equipped with internet connections and updated software enhance innovative learning.
